Invasive Plant Management Training 6/16/2023 - Rescheduled

The Conservation Commission will be hosting a training on how to manage and control invasive species that are prevalent in Townsend, including garlic mustard, bittersweet, and Japanese knotweed. The training will be conducted by experts from Land Stewardship Inc., and community volunteers, as well as town employees, are encouraged to attend. If you are interested in attending, please contact us by June 13th at conservation@townsendma.gov. Space is limited to 15 attendees. Additional information will be emailed to attendees a few days before the training.

The training will be held on Friday June 16th from 10am-1pm and attendees will meet near the Rail Trail along Old Meetinghouse Road. Attendees will receive hands on training on how to effectively remove various invasive species which are currently growing around town. Please plan on arriving a few minutes early and make sure to bring sunscreen, water, and work gloves. We hope to see you there!
