PFAS Information

The Townsend Water Department proactively tested the water system for a chemical compound the State is now testing for called PFAS. Our results have been returned and it has been confirmed that one of our wells tested above the state minimum. This is a relatively new test and there is still a lot that we do not know regarding the effects that these compounds have. The approved Mass DEP report is attached below that details and outlines the information.
