Cemetery & Parks Meeting
July 10, 2019

The meeting was opened at 12:10 PM present were Tubby Boucher, Roger Rapoza, Drew Funk and Pam Haman.
Bills and Payroll were reviewed and approved.
Deeds reviewed and signed.
Correspondence:
Memo from BOS regarding active shooter training on 7/23/19.
Notice of Open meeting and Ethics training which will be help in July and August.

Discuss:
Thank you note to Historical Society for donation for the bridge repair at Howard Park was signed. Bridge was repaired several notes of thanks were received verbally and via email.
Restoring Deed Book: Pam would like to get a quote for restoring Vol. B. Deed book is in tough shape and needs restoration. She will contact a firm in Shrewsbury that was recommended by the Antiquarian Society in Worcester and an Overseer from Old Sturbridge Village.
Veterans Memorial: The pavers and other supplies were delivered by Powell’s for the project. The Eagle Scout will work on the landscaping over the summer.
Superintendents Report:
New lawn mower works great.
Tree Warden dropped off several trees which the department will plant in parks/cemetery.
Concerns have been received from various townspeople about the sidewalks on the common and the gazebo. The department is still waiting for official notification about the release of the funds. It may be possible to do more repairs on broken and cracked walks. The department has been making ongoing repairs to the gazebo as well as painting.
A claim has been filed for the slip and fall accident that happened over the winter at the Library. Roger explained that the sidewalks had been sanded and salted but do to meting and freezing some areas got icy.
